Historic Voyage: Japanese LNG Tanker Navigates Strait of Hormuz

A Japanese liquefied natural gas tanker, jointly owned by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz, the company confirmed on Friday.

The Panama-flagged ship, known as 'SOHAR LNG', traveled the strategic waterway with its crew reported safe. However, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines declined to state when the crossing occurred or if negotiations were involved.

According to Asahi newspaper, this passage represents the first for a Japanese vessel through the Strait of Hormuz following the escalation of conflict in Iran.
