In a significant breakthrough, Ghaziabad police have apprehended three individuals, including a woman, on charges of attempting to extort Rs 10 crore from a local builder. The suspects, Ravindra alias Robin, Tushar Basoya, and Savita alias Savi Chaudhary, are former associates of the victim, Arpit Gupta.

The case came to light following a complaint filed by Gupta, who operates a firm in Wave City. He reported receiving threatening WhatsApp calls from individuals posing as associates of the notorious Sunder Bhati gang. They demanded a payment of Rs 10 crore and threatened to eliminate his family if their demands were not met.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (City Zone) Dhawal Jaiswal revealed that the trio was apprehended using electronic surveillance, and the mobile phones used in committing the crime were recovered. A preliminary investigation indicates that professional rivalry led to the plot, with further investigations ongoing to uncover any additional conspirators.
