In a significant development, the Enforcement Directorate has arrested Amitabh Jhunjhunwala and Amit Bapna, once senior figures at Anil Ambani's Reliance Group.
The duo was apprehended in connection with an alleged massive bank loan fraud and subsequent money laundering activities. The arrests were made under the stringent Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
This legal action stems from accusations of serious financial misconduct involving Reliance Home Finance Ltd and Reliance Commercial Finance Ltd. FIRs filed by the CBI also contributed to this major step forward in the ongoing investigation.
