In a major breakthrough, ten cyber criminals were apprehended across nine locations in Jharkhand's Deoghar district, authorities revealed late Tuesday. The operation, led by Deputy SP (Cyber) Raja Kumar Mitra, targeted individuals accused of online fraud.

According to Mitra, the suspects were masquerading as customer care executives on counterfeit digital platforms, compelling unwitting victims to share information through links, purportedly offering cashback and loan services. The crackdown resulted in the recovery of 16 mobile phones and 15 SIM cards.

Legal proceedings have commenced at the Cyber Police Station, and further investigations are being conducted to determine if these criminals are linked to broader fraudulent activities throughout Jharkhand, police reported.
