In a troubling incident at Lok Bhavan, Bhubaneswar, two senior Indian Revenue Service officers were reportedly subjected to undue and unwarranted treatment. The officers, on official duty accompanying the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, were allegedly evicted from the premises and taken to the police station without cause.
Despite prior coordination and informing relevant officials of their presence, the officers experienced what was described as 'atrocious treatment' at the hands of security personnel. Principal Chief Commissioner Dr. D Sudhakara Rao expressed deep concern over the actions, noting they undermine the dignity of senior civil servants.
Rao has called for a thorough review of the security staff's conduct to prevent recurrence of such incidents, which jeopardize the professional rapport between governmental offices. A response from Lok Bhavan remained pending as of late Thursday, as the issue draws attention at both administrative and public levels.
