Drug Bust in Thrikkakara: Large Seizure of MDMA and Ecstasy

A 42-year-old man, Kevin B Mathew, was arrested in Thrikkakara with a substantial amount of MDMA and ecstasy pills. The Kochi City Police, acting on a tip-off, apprehended him. During the search, authorities seized drugs and cash. Mathew was connected to a previous narcotics case.

Kochi City Police, acting swiftly on a tip-off, apprehended Kevin B Mathew, a 42-year-old resident of Chembumukku, Thrikkakara, with a significant cache of synthetic drugs in Thrikkakara.

The arrest, made after a meticulous search by the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force under the supervision of Narcotic Cell Assistant Commissioner T D Sunilkumar, yielded 183.55 grams of MDMA and 93.51 grams of ecstasy pills.

Mathew, linked to a previous narcotics case, was found with Rs 1 lakh, believed to be drug trafficking proceeds, and has since been remanded in judicial custody after being presented in court.
