In a chilling tale from Binjahedi village, a father allegedly strangled his young daughter over a perceived violation of family honour. The victim, 17-year-old Ayesha, was reportedly involved in a romantic relationship with a local youth, against the wishes of her family.
Police identified the accused as Najakat, a bakery worker from Delhi, who had returned to the village recently. According to Circle Officer Rajesh Singh, Najakat sought to dissuade his daughter on Wednesday, but in a fit of rage and under societal pressure, he took her life.
The case has been taken to court, with Najakat now in custody. Authorities have sent Ayesha's body for postmortem, while heartbroken family members and community residents await further revelations from the ongoing investigation.
