Lost Cash on Highway Returned: A Display of Honesty
Police in Shamli district returned Rs 4 lakh in cash, found scattered on the Meerut-Karnal highway, to its rightful owner. A local resident reported the discovery, leading to the recovery. Shubham, the owner, dropped the cash while traveling. The informant will be recognized for his honesty.

In a commendable act of integrity, police in Shamli district have returned Rs 4 lakh in cash found scattered on the Meerut-Karnal highway to its rightful owner. The discovery happened near Kabaraut village on Friday when a local resident named Sumit Kumar spotted cash bundles and alerted authorities.
Officials promptly responded and collected the six bundles of Rs 500 notes, four bundles of Rs 200 notes, and two bundles of Rs 100 notes. Additional Superintendent of Police Sumit Shukla confirmed that the money was securely deposited in the police evidence room.
After investigation, Shubham from Muzaffarnagar was identified as the owner. He claimed that the cash fell off his motorcycle as he was returning from a bank in Haryana. Shamli Superintendent of Police Narendra Pratap Singh later confirmed the return of the Rs 4 lakh to Shubham and promised a reward for the resident who reported the cash.
