A shocking incident occurred in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district, where a former Maoist allegedly met a tragic end at the hands of suspected members of his former group, the CPI (Maoists).
Identified as Ramesh Champia, the victim was reportedly abducted from his home in Dugunia village during the night. Despite his wife's attempts to intervene, the assailants took him to a forested area where he was allegedly beaten to death. The body was later found abandoned on the Goilkera-Manoharpur Main Road.
Ramesh Champia, who had previously distanced himself from Maoist activities after serving jail time, was leading a normal life, working in road construction. While the motive for the brutal act remains unclear, authorities are investigating all possibilities, suspecting he may have been viewed as a police informer. The district police have launched a thorough inquiry into the case.
