In a bid to curb fatal road accidents in Shalimar Bagh, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced the removal of over 140 illegal structures that have long hindered traffic flow and road safety in the area.
Gupta expressed her condolences over the tragic death of a minor, which highlighted the dangers posed by these encroachments on government land. Narrow roads, due to illegal constructions, have been a contributing factor in the recent accidents.
The Delhi High Court has also directed the clearance of these unauthorized units to improve traffic conditions and prevent further loss of life.
