Tragic Loss: Three Workers Die from Toxic Gas Inhalation at Pune Mushroom Farm
Three workers tragically died from suspected toxic gas inhalation inside a drainage tank at a mushroom farm in Pune's Purandar taluka. The incident prompted a rescue attempt using an earthmover machine. Preliminary investigations indicate suffocation from built-up toxic gases. A case of accidental death has been registered by Jejuri police.

Tragedy struck on Sunday when three workers lost their lives due to suspected inhalation of toxic gas inside a drainage tank on a mushroom farm in Purandar taluka, Pune district.
The incident unfolded in Belsar village under the jurisdiction of Jejuri police station. A worker initially entered the drainage tank at 4:30 PM to clear a wastewater line and was later followed by two colleagues when he failed to reappear. Concerned locals, observing the situation, employed an earthmover machine to break open the slab covering the tank in a desperate rescue attempt.
Unfortunately, all three workers were declared dead upon arrival at Jejuri Rural Hospital. The deceased have been identified as Pintu Rajesh Prasad, Vyas Soham Kumar, and Gautam Ramsuran Kushwaha, all from Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district. Police have registered a case of accidental death, attributing it to likely suffocation from toxic gases accumulated in the confined space.
