Palghar district has recorded 60 per cent mapping of voters in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, with Vikramgad assembly seat topping the list at 87.78 per cent and Nalasopara recording the lowest performance at 37.72 per cent, officials said. Under the leadership of District Collector Dr Indu Rani Jakhar, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have mapped 14,18,402 voters out of a total electorate of 23,92,606 across six assembly segments. Rural areas performed well with Vikramgad leading at 87.78 per cent, followed by Dahanu at 85.60 per cent, and Palghar at 80.77 per cent, while urban belts continue to lag. The mapping in Vasai stands at 50.49 per cent and Boisar at 45.2 per cent, while Nalasopara recorded the lowest performance at 37.72 per cent. Taking a tough stance on underperformance, the district administration has served 141 show-cause notices to erring personnel. Five BLOs in the Nalasopara constituency have been placed under immediate suspension for failing to meet targets. Highlighting the voter-centric approach, Jakhar noted that the Election Commission's 'Book a Call with BLO' service has been instrumental in bridging the gap between the administration and the public. ''This initiative removes the guesswork for citizens. It's not just a technical tool but a direct bridge ensuring that every concern is heard and addressed within 48 hours,'' the collector said. Of the 5,344 calls received in the district via the Voter Service Portal and ECINet App, over 4,000 queries have already been resolved, as per the data.
