A couple, who had a love marriage, had left their two young daughters at a police station and walked away in Karimnagar district of Telangana over marital differences during a conciliation session, officials said on Wednesday. The couple got married 10 years ago, and their children are now aged seven and five, police said on Wednesday. The couple approached the LMD Colony police here two weeks ago following differences. The woman alleged that her husband had manhandled her in recent times. Allegedly vexed with her husband's attitude, the wife came to the police station on Tuesday along with two daughters. While the police were counselling the wife and husband, the wife removed her mangala sutram and toe rings and placed them on the table of the Inspector and walked out alone. The husband also left without even looking at the children sitting there, police said. ''We tried to reach them on their mobile phones, but of no use,'' a police official said. The police later handed over the children to their grandparents.
