A 58-year-old MCD employee died allegedly after falling from the roof of a building in northeast Delhi's Welcome area on Wednesday afternoon, police said. The incident was reported at around 3:07 pm at the Welcome police station, following which a police team rushed to the spot near Keshav Chowk, they said. On arrival, the police found Rajkumar lying critically injured. He was employed as an assistant sanitary inspector with the MCD, the officer said. Rajkumar was immediately shifted to Jag Pravesh Chandra (JPC) Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead, police said. Police said that Rajkumar fell from the roof of an MCD building. They are investigating all possible angles, including whether it was an accidental fall or involved any other factors. A forensic team was called to the scene, and evidence was collected as part of the preliminary investigation, officials said, adding that the exact circumstances leading to the fall are yet to be ascertained. Proceedings under section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), pertaining to inquest in cases of unnatural death, have been initiated, police said.
