Notorious drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Dola, reportedly a close aide of gangster Dawood Ibrahim, has been remanded in custody by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) until May 8. Dola was arrested in Turkiye following an Interpol Red Notice, issued at India's request in March 2024.

Dola, accused in multiple narcotics trafficking cases in India, had been evading law enforcement until his recent capture. After being brought to Delhi, a court there granted a two-day transit remand for his transfer to Mumbai. His arrest is linked to the 2023 seizure of 20 kilograms of mephedrone in south Mumbai.

Originally hailing from Dongri in south Mumbai, Dola has been implicated in expanding and operating extensive mephedrone distribution networks while residing abroad. The ongoing investigation aims to explore the full extent of his involvement in drug manufacturing and supply chains across India.
