Unveiling India's Digital Census Revolution in Maharashtra

Maharashtra embarks on India's first fully digital Census from May 1, leveraging mobile apps and an online portal for enhanced accuracy. Self-enumeration occurs from May 1 to May 15, followed by physical enumeration. Approximately 2.64 lakh personnel will support this large-scale data collection, marking a shift towards digital governance.

Maharashtra is spearheading a significant shift toward digitalization with the launch of India's first fully digital Census on May 1. This initiative is set to redefine data collection through self-enumeration, aimed at improving accuracy and real-time data gathering.

The innovative approach allows citizens to independently log their details using an official online portal, available from May 1 to May 15. The digitized process promises a seamless experience coupled with the provision of a unique identification code for each participant. Caution has been advised against unauthorized communication lacking the 'RGICEN' keyword.

In the field phase from May 16 to June 14, enumerators will engage with households directly, utilizing digital tools for efficient and comprehensive data capture. A team of around 2.64 lakh personnel, trained for this groundbreaking task, will ensure precision and thoroughness across varied demographics.
