A striking case emerges from northwest Delhi, where a 45-year-old domestic help was apprehended for allegedly stealing gold jewellery and cash from a residence in Shalimar Bagh. The arrest was executed despite facing a pack of aggressive guard dogs, prominently including pitbulls and American bullies, reportedly used to deter law enforcement entry.
The accused, known as Sona alias K Sonia, a resident of Rohini, was caught hiding during a police operation. The case surfaced on April 19 after a resident complained about his maid's actions, stating that she had stolen valuable assets. Police investigations revealed her sophisticated techniques to hide the stolen property and evade authorities.
Further examination showed that the accused had pledged the stolen gold jewellery in several financial institutions to acquire loans, uncovering a total of 15 gold loan accounts with extensive ties. To date, around two kilograms of gold have been traced and Rs 1 lakh recovered, while efforts persist to retrieve additional stolen goods and identify potential accomplices in this elaborate network.
