Tensions Rise in Noida as Authorities Prepare for Labour Day

Following violent protests by workers in Noida, authorities are enhancing security measures ahead of International Labour Day. The district has been divided into numerous zones for better monitoring, and a significant police presence has been deployed. A welfare initiative, including free medical services, has also been announced for May 1.

As International Labour Day approaches, authorities in Noida are leaving no stone unturned to ensure security following a spate of violent protests by workers in the region. The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration and police have called for stringent security arrangements, deploying a large police force across key locations.

To maintain law and order, Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita has been implemented from April 30 to May 8. Meanwhile, a welfare initiative offering free healthcare services is set to commence on Labour Day, reflecting the administration's commitment to workers' welfare.

Authorities have segmented the district into zones for improved surveillance. In the wake of the protests, which involved arson and vandalism, over 300 individuals were detained. Investigations link some instigators to Pakistan, amplifying the sensitivity of the situation.
