Honoring a Hero: ITBP Commandant Raghunath Singh Bhati Laid to Rest

The funeral saw significant community participation, with tributes and respect paid to the officer. Bhati's valor and service were celebrated with full honors by his sons and peers.

In a solemn ceremony, ITBP Assistant Commandant Raghunath Singh Bhati was cremated with full military honors in his native village of Adbala, Jaisalmer. The officer, who was injured in a road accident in West Bengal on April 13, passed away in a military hospital in Delhi, 16 days later.
Bhati's mortal remains were respectfully transported from Delhi to Phalodi airbase by air, then carried to his village by road. Hundreds of locals gathered to honor the officer, showering flowers and chanting slogans to pay tribute to his service and sacrifice.
Following the traditional procession, Bhati's body, draped in the national tricolor, received a guard of honor from Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel. Surrounded by family, including his sons who lit the funeral pyre, and local dignitaries, the village commemorated a legacy filled with courage and dedication.
