On Thursday, the Uttarakhand Cabinet announced major changes, empowering district-level education committees to handle affiliation for minority institutions up to Class 8.
This decision aims to streamline processes under the Uttarakhand Minority Education Act, accommodating requests from over 400 madrasas while retaining Board of School Education control for classes 9 to 12.
In addition, the Cabinet approved simplified procedures for Haridwar Ardh Kumbh 2027 construction projects, updated legal service rules to support acid attack victims, promoted beekeeping along forest lines, and greenlit 250 new buses to enhance public transport.
