The Jharkhand Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has uncovered a complex web of financial impropriety totaling Rs 10 crore in the ongoing Bokaro treasury scam investigation. Official statements confirmed the freezing of fixed deposits worth Rs 1.8 crore and Rs 18 lakh, which were allegedly funneled into multiple bank accounts from the Bokaro treasury.

Several arrests have been made, including Kaushal Kumar Pandey, an accountant with the Bokaro police department, and two police personnel. The apprehended officers, ASI Ashok Kumar Bhandari and Home Guard jawan Satish Kumar, are implicated in the scandal. During a raid at Bhandari's residence, documents pertinent to his unlawfully acquired properties were confiscated, revealing extensive holdings across Bokaro.

Following the discovery of fraudulent schemes, a slew of arrests was conducted within Hazaribag and West Singhbhum districts, uncovering further embezzlement totaling over Rs 15 crore. As the alleged fraudulent activities came to light, state Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore initiated a thorough audit of all district treasuries, signaling heightened scrutiny over public funds handling.
