Manoj Agarwal, the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal, emphasized the integrity of election processes at counting centres, highlighting the implementation of round-the-clock CCTV monitoring of strong rooms. These measures aim to prevent any impropriety and ensure that no wrongdoing occurs at the sites housing the electronic voting machines (EVMs).
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) remains vigilant, with spokesperson Kunal Ghosh and other party members closely overseeing the operations at the counting centres. Their involvement follows directions from party leader Mamata Banerjee to ensure the security of EVMs. Additional security, including central armed police forces, bolsters the efforts, supervised by high-level police officials.
Concerns regarding unauthorized activities during postal ballot transfers were raised by the TMC party. In response, polling agents have been alerted to maintain awareness and vigilance. Senior police officers reiterated their commitment to transparency and urged that any allegations must be backed with substantial evidence.
