A recent official report reveals a tragic escalation in cross-border violence in Pakistan's restive Bajaur district, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals, including six children, over the past two months.
The fatalities occurred due to incidents of cross-border firing and mortar shelling, allegedly by Afghan forces, targeting civilian areas in Bajaur's frontier regions, notably Mamond and Salarzai.
In response, Pakistan's security forces have targeted the alleged firing points across the border, while locals express their anguish and fear over the situation, urging a halt to the civilian-targeted violence.
