Pakistani security forces have been actively engaging in counter-terrorism operations, resulting in the death of 13 terrorists affiliated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan group along the Afghanistan border, reports the military's media wing.
The operations took place in Mohmand and North Waziristan districts, where troops intercepted attempts by terrorists to infiltrate from Afghanistan. The military's statement emphasized continued efforts under the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
The increase in militant violence is of growing concern, with a reported 34% rise in terrorist attacks and a 21% spike in terrorism-related fatalities in 2025. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, in particular, has experienced a sharp escalation in violence, requiring ongoing strategic focus.
