CITU President and Kulgam MLA, M Y Tarigami, addressed the gathering, highlighting May Day as a symbol of workers' resilience and their fight for dignity and justice. Tarigami criticized recent labour policies implemented by the BJP-led government, calling them detrimental to workers' interests. He urged revocation of the newly introduced labour codes and called for equitable wealth distribution and inclusive development.
