A tribal man, Etwa Munda, from Jharkhand's Khunti district, was rescued by police after being kidnapped for ransom, officials confirmed on Monday. Six suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The victim was abducted on April 28 and taken to a forest in Karra. He was successfully rescued on April 29, and three of the accused were apprehended the same day. An additional three suspects were arrested and sent to judicial custody on Monday, revealed Ashok Kumar, officer in charge of the Khunti police station.
The police confiscated a vehicle used in the abduction and two mobile phones. An FIR was lodged by the victim's son, adding to the mounting evidence against the suspects.
