On Monday, police in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir made significant strides in their anti-narcotics efforts by recovering close to four kilograms of charas. The operation was conducted at the residence of Abdul Rashid Bhat in Shitipora, following a warrant issued under Section 41 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
The search, part of an ongoing investigation related to a case registered at the Srigufwara police station, involved meticulous inspection of the premises. Authorities discovered a concealed hideout allegedly used for storing narcotic substances. Approximately 3.9 kilograms of a charas-like substance was confiscated during this operation.
To bolster the search's thoroughness, a canine unit was deployed, ensuring that the process was both scientific and exhaustive. Legal procedures were meticulously followed, and the seized narcotics are now integral evidence in the case. The police spokesperson confirmed that all formalities were completed on-site.
