In a bid to tackle the sweltering heatwave conditions in Rajasthan, the state police announced the distribution of five lakh ORS (oral rehydration salts) packets to its personnel to prevent dehydration while on duty.

The campaign, spearheaded by Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, commenced on Monday, and aims to protect police constables from heat-related ailments. Deputy Inspector General (Training) Sharad Chaudhary is in charge of executing the initiative.

The ORS packets are intended to assist officers involved in traffic management, law enforcement, patrolling, and other public duties. The first batch of 90,000 ORS packets arrived at the Rajasthan Police Academy and distribution to training centers is underway, with further consignments expected imminently.
