Parents Brigade Takes Stand Against Drug Menace in Jammu & Kashmir

In an effort to tackle the growing drug problem, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced the launch of a 'Parents Brigade' in the union territory. This initiative, unveiled in Budgam district, is aimed at creating a network of trained parents, women, and youth to identify early signs of drug use.

Speaking at the launch, Sinha highlighted how drug addiction is not only devastating for families but poses a threat to national security by funding terrorism. He urged families, social groups, and leaders to join forces to eliminate the drug menace and emphasized treating addicts with empathy.

By rallying community support, Sinha hopes to raise awareness, eliminate stigmas, and cut off funds flowing from drug trade to terror outfits. This initiative is part of a broader campaign for a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir, underpinning the crucial link between the fight against drugs and terrorism.
