In a shocking turn of events, a man was apprehended following the revelation that he allegedly strangled his wife after she denied him money for alcohol. Initially, he attempted to cloak the act as a natural death, but a post-mortem exposed the grim truth.

The incident occurred in Saraswati Enclave, where 41-year-old Mamta Devi was found dead. Her husband, Hari Gopal Sharma, initially claimed ignorance, stating he found her unconscious after returning home from a brief outing.

Upon investigation, authorities discovered Sharma's misleading narrative. Autopsy results on May 3 concluded strangulation as the cause of death, prompting a murder charge. In custody, Sharma allegedly admitted to the killing due to financial strain and alcohol dependency.
