Tragic IPL Night: Truck Driver Arrested for Fatal Hit-and-Run in Delhi

A 20-year-old truck driver from Bihar was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident that killed two cousins in Delhi after they attended an IPL match. The incident occurred on April 27, and police tracked down the accused using CCTV footage and technical surveillance.

The Delhi Police have made an arrest in connection with a tragic hit-and-run case that resulted in the deaths of two young cousins. The incident occurred on April 27 near Mahadev Road T-point, where a truck hit their motorcycle from behind as they returned from an IPL match.

The accused, 20-year-old Tuntun alias Titu from Bihar, was apprehended in Samastipur on May 4, following a meticulous investigation leveraging CCTV footage, technical surveillance, and local inputs. The arrest follows a detailed manhunt after the driver fled the scene immediately post-incident.

The cousins, Yagya Bhatia (20) and Abhav Bhatia (14), were both residents of Ashok Nagar and were declared dead at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Police are investigating whether the accused was intoxicated and are also interrogating the driver’s family members for further insights.
