Lahiri takes charge as VIce Chairman of NITI Aayog
Renowned economist Ashok Kumar Lahiri on Friday took charge as Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog. Lahiri is a former chief economic advisor to the government of India and a member of the 15th Finance Commission. NITI Aayog looks forward to his contributions in advancing Indias development agenda and supporting strategic policy initiatives across sectors, it added.
Renowned economist Ashok Kumar Lahiri on Friday took charge as Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog. Lahiri replaced Suman Bery. Lahiri is a former chief economic advisor to the government of India and a member of the 15th Finance Commission. ''His experience across academia, public institutions and international organisations will further strengthen NITI Aayog's efforts towards evidence-based policymaking and economic transformation,'' NITI Aayog said in a social media post on X. NITI Aayog looks forward to his contributions in advancing India's development agenda and supporting strategic policy initiatives across sectors, it added.
