Major Haul: Security Forces Discover Crores and Arms in Chhattisgarh Forests

In a significant breakthrough, security forces operating in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district have seized over Rs 1 crore in cash and a substantial arsenal of arms and explosives. This discovery was made during a month-long anti-Maoist operation, police confirmed on Tuesday.

The operation, launched after Chhattisgarh was declared free of armed Maoists on March 31, involved personnel from the local police, District Reserve Guard (DRG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Border Security Force (BSF). It was conducted under the 'Maad Bachao Abhiyan', focusing on the dense forests of Abhujmad, according to Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Robinson Guria.

Acting on intelligence inputs and supported by local villagers, forces uncovered multiple Maoist caches containing Rs 1.01 crore in cash, 28 weapons, and a substantial quantity of ammunition and explosives. The operation is considered a major success in the region. Authorities urge villagers to report any suspicious finds to aid in the ongoing efforts against Maoist activities.
