Kuwait's interior ministry on Tuesday announced the apprehension of four individuals connected with Iran's Revolutionary Guards who attempted illegal entry by sea, according to the state news agency KUNA.
The incident left one member of Kuwait's armed forces injured during skirmishes with the infiltrators. In response, Kuwait summoned Iran's ambassador, delivering a protest note regarding the Revolutionary Guards' alleged infiltration of Bubiyan Island, as revealed by the foreign ministry.
Bubiyan Island, the largest among Kuwait's coastal islands, is strategically located in the Gulf's northwest. The Kuwaiti government condemned the incident as a hostile act, affirming its right to defend its sovereignty in line with Article 51 of the U.N. Charter.
