Tragic Witchcraft Allegation Leads to Murder in Bihar

An elderly woman was allegedly beaten to death in Bihar's Gaya Ji district over accusations of witchcraft, according to local police reports. The incident unfolded in North Lodhwe panchayat, near Fatehpur police station, on Monday night. The victim, identified as Bulki Devi, was 65 years old.

Her assailants, purportedly members of a local family, confronted her outside her residence, claiming she had cast a spell causing illness in one of their relatives. Fatehpur SHO Manoj Kumar reported that 11 individuals have been named in the FIR filed by the deceased's family.

One suspect, Prakash Kumar, aged 50, has been apprehended. The victim's body was sent to Magadh Medical College for a post-mortem examination. Local witnesses recount a violent scene, saying several villagers initiated the attack, leading to the woman's untimely death. An investigation is ongoing.
