A Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker named Mihzem successfully traversed the Strait of Hormuz to deliver gas to Pakistan amid ongoing regional tensions. This follows the successful passage of another Qatari LNG tanker, as Iran collaborates with Qatar and Pakistan to navigate conflict-related risks in the region.

A Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker, Mihzem, has successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz, arriving in Pakistan from Ras Laffan. This marks the second successful voyage by a Qatari LNG carrier through these waters since the escalation of regional tensions surrounding Iran.

On the previous day, another tanker, Al Kharaitiyat, completed its passage through an Iranian-approved route near the strait. As a mediator in the ongoing U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran, Pakistan is buying LNG from Qatar through a government agreement, with Iran ensuring safe passage to strengthen diplomatic trust.

Pakistan faces a severe gas shortage and has negotiated with Iran to enable limited LNG shipments through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran, cooperating with Qatar, has approved shipments as a gesture of goodwill. More Qatari LNG tankers are scheduled to follow this route shortly, fulfilling Pakistan's critical energy needs.
