The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation took decisive action on Wednesday, demolishing alleged illegal structures linked to AIMIM corporator Matin Patel. This follows charges against Patel for providing refuge to Nida Khan, implicated in a significant case in Nashik.
Khan is at the center of a controversy involving alleged religious conversion and sexual harassment incidents at a Nashik-based unit of TCS. As the legal process unfolds, Mayor Sameer Rajurkar indicated that Patel's corporatorship might be at risk if further illegalities are confirmed.
Despite Patel seeking a stay from the court, the municipality proceeded with the demolition, drawing criticism from former AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel. Jaleel criticized the authorities for acting in haste and vowed to aid Patel’s family in rebuilding their home.
