Former Jharkhand minister Alamgir Alam stepped out of Birsa Munda Central Jail on Thursday after being granted bail by the Supreme Court in a money laundering case concerning an alleged tender scam under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate.
Alam, who was detained on May 15, 2024, following a significant cash seizure linked to him, had his initial bail plea rejected by the Jharkhand High Court. Upon pleading with the Supreme Court and presenting his case, he secured bail.
Expressing gratitude and reflecting on his time in jail, Alam vowed to focus on his health first. Supporters gathered with enthusiasm, celebrating his release as a moment of justice and renewal.
