The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has mandated a probe into claims of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi accumulating disproportionate assets.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have been entrusted with the inquiry and are expected to present initial findings by July 20. This judicial instruction stems from a criminal writ petition filed by S Vignesh Shishir, a Karnataka BJP worker.

In addition to the CBI and ED, several governmental departments, including Finance and Corporate Affairs, have been required to provide responses within eight weeks. The bench highlighted that the legitimacy of the petition would be determined following the examination of all responses.
