The cross-examination of a key witness concluded on Thursday in the electoral code violation case involving AAP MP Sanjay Singh. The court session, taking place in a district of Uttar Pradesh, recorded the testimony of constable Pankaj Kumar, whose statement shed light on the ongoing legal proceedings.
Kumar recounted his presence during the alleged incident under scrutiny, accompanying then Station House Officer Praveen Singh. The defense team, led by counsel Madan Pratap Singh, completed their questioning, marking a significant phase in the trial held at the MP-MLA court.
The proceedings, linked to an unauthorized election meeting in Hasanpur during the 2021 Uttar Pradesh panchayat polls, aim to address the accusations of breaching the Model Code of Conduct. The court scheduled its next hearing for May 21, where the remaining evidence will be evaluated before a decision is reached.
