In Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur district, another First Information Report has been filed against Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajkumar Bhati. The latest complaint follows allegations of Bhati making hurtful and objectionable remarks against the Brahmin community, according to police statements on Friday.
This isn't the first time Bhati has faced such accusations. Similar FIRs have previously been lodged in Ghaziabad and Noida. Bhati maintains that his words were taken out of context from a larger statement delivered at an event, made available via a video clip.
The latest complaint came from Akhil alias Anurag Tiwari after viewing the video on May 12, wherein Bhati allegedly disparaged the Brahmin community. As a result, the case was registered at Dhanpatganj police station on May 14, with the police assigning Inspector Mahendra Kumar to spearhead the investigation.
