Delhi Police have dismantled a sophisticated honey-trap and extortion ring, arresting four individuals posing as law enforcement officers to fleece victims found through dating applications. This crackdown, announced on Saturday, sheds light on the gang's deceptive operations across the city.

The suspects, Sushil Kumar, Deepak alias Sajan, Vinod Pandit, and Neeraj Tyagi, orchestrated fake police raids to extract money from targets. Their modus operandi involved creating bogus female profiles on dating apps to bait unsuspecting men, who were then lured to isolated locations under false pretenses.

Once there, the victims were trapped, threatened with fabricated criminal charges, and coerced into paying sums as high as Rs 15 lakh. This successful intervention by Delhi Police came following a trap laid near Kalyan Jewellers in Rajouri Garden, leading to the arrests and exposure of their extortion tactics.
