End of an Era: Notorious Maoists Surrender Amid Successful Operations

Five Naxal functionaries with significant bounties surrendered in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district as part of 'Operation Antim Prahar.' Eight Maoists were arrested, and a large cache of arms was seized. The operation, led by Superintendent M Ramesh, marked the end of official wanted records for Maoists in the region.

In a significant breakthrough for law enforcement in Maharashtra, five prominent Naxal operatives, carrying bounties totaling Rs 38 lakh, surrendered to the authorities in Gadchiroli district. This development is part of the extensive 'Operation Antim Prahar' conducted by local police alongside the Central Reserve Police Force.

During the operations, eight Maoists from Maharashtra, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh were apprehended, symbolizing a major success in neutralizing this outlawed movement. According to official reports, the arrests, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police M Ramesh, have led to zero Maoists left on the district's wanted list.

The operations yielded significant seizures, including a variety of high-caliber firearms and a substantial cash stash, marking an end to the organized armed resistance declared by the Union government.
