Delhi Police Enhance Terror Preparedness with Large-Scale Mock Drill at Palika Bazar

The Delhi Police conducted an extensive anti-terror mock drill at Palika Bazar to test the operational readiness and coordination of multiple agencies in response to terror threats. The exercise included simulations of terrorist attacks and hostage situations, aimed at evaluating the emergency response and security measures within the New Delhi district.

In a significant move to bolster anti-terror preparedness, the Delhi Police executed a large-scale mock drill at Palika Bazar, Connaught Place on Sunday. The comprehensive exercise tested the coordination and response readiness of multiple agencies to potential terror emergencies.

The drill involved simulating a terrorist and hostage situation within the bustling underground market. Immediate activation of emergency response systems saw teams from the local police, SWAT commandos, Bomb Disposal Squad, and various other service agencies stepping in to manage the crisis, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Sachin Sharma.

Later in the day, under the “Black Rose” scheme, the police evaluated preventive security strategies across sensitive areas, enhancing operational capabilities and surveillance to secure the city against potential threats.
