In a daring daylight robbery, three masked assailants reportedly made off with over Rs 8 lakh after holding government officials at gunpoint in Odisha's Keonjhar district on Monday.

The incident unfolded near Mukuna Bazaar when two officials, on their way to distribute social security scheme funds, were accosted. The funds had been withdrawn from a private bank just prior to the robbery.

Officials identified as Panchayat Executive Officer Tushar Jyoti Soren and Assistant Data Entry Operator Abhimanyu Sahu were traveling without police protection. This prompted a swift investigation by local authorities to track down the perpetrators.
