The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the probe into the death of Twisha Sharma, a former model-turned-actor, following her mysterious demise in Bhopal. Found hanging at her marital home on May 12, the case has drawn widespread attention due to its high-profile nature and alleged connections to dowry disputes.
Authorities have filed an FIR against Twisha's lawyer husband, Samarth Singh, and her mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh. Both are accused of crimes related to dowry death, mental torment, and domestic abuse. Her family has made serious allegations of harassment over unsatisfactory dowry payments, which they claim drove Twisha to her untimely end.
With the involvement of the CBI, which has re-registered the state police FIR as its case, the investigation is now focusing on collecting evidence and clarifying any discrepancies. Twisha's husband was apprehended after being on the run, while a second postmortem performed by AIIMS-Delhi doctors adds layers to the ongoing investigation.
