Authorities in Odisha captured a suspect early Wednesday following a shootout with police that left the man injured. Identified as Pupun Majhi, the 31-year-old was intercepted near Arisol village, opening fire on officers and injuring two.

Police returned fire, wounding and subsequently arresting Majhi. Officials seized 25 grams of brown sugar, a firearm, ammunition, and a motorcycle from the suspect. Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh noted Majhi's involvement in over 20 criminal cases, ranging from bombings to drug trafficking. Singh emphasized continued law enforcement efforts to combat criminal activity and protect citizens.
