The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken charge of the investigation into the tragic death of former model and actor Twisha Sharma. Her husband, Samarth Singh, was remanded into CBI custody following a court hearing in Bhopal. The state police had initially handled the case.

Twisha was discovered dead at her marital home on May 12, reportedly after facing continuous harassment over dowry by her in-laws. Her husband and mother-in-law have been named in an FIR for actions leading to her death. The CBI has now re-registered the case, continuing the investigation into the alleged dowry demands and harassment claims.

Twisha's family has alleged mental torture and maltreatment from her in-laws, contributing to her decision to end her life. Samarth, previously arrested in Jabalpur, had been elusive before his capture by the state's Special Investigation Team. Further details emerged as a second postmortem was conducted by AIIMS-Delhi doctors upon the High Court's request, addressing concerns from her family regarding procedural irregularities.
