Police Uncover Rs 2.24 Crore in Hawala Funds from Luxury Vehicle

Authorities in Rajasthan seized Rs 2.24 crore in suspected hawala money from a luxury car, arresting two men. The vehicle was intercepted on Tuesday night, and the detained individuals are believed to work for a Gujarat-based hawala operation. Investigations are ongoing following a report to the income tax department.

In a significant crackdown, Rajasthan police discovered Rs 2.24 crore in unaccounted cash inside a luxury car during a routine check in the Chechat area. The vehicle, allegedly transiting illicit funds from Uttar Pradesh to Gujarat, was stopped by law enforcement after attempting to evade a barricade.

Following a comprehensive search, police unearthed the cash concealed in hidden compartments beneath the seats. The suspects, Mukesh and Suthar Bhavik, hailing from Gujarat, admitted to working for a hawala operation. Authorities have alerted the income tax department as investigations continue to trace the monetary origins and its intended purpose.
