A coaching academy in Pune has distanced itself from Tejas Shah, a physics teacher apprehended by the CBI regarding the NEET UG exam paper leak. The director emphasized that Shah's exchanges with Manisha Havaldar were independent of the academy's involvement.
Shah, who serves at Dr Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy, allegedly obtained leaked questions from Havaldar. Director Sachin Haldavnekar clarified that Shah sought help solely on personal grounds, paying Havaldar consultancy fees. The institute maintains full cooperation with the authorities as the investigation unfurls and reiterates trust in the judicial process.
To date, 13 individuals are under arrest, including Shah and Havaldar. In response, the NEET exam on May 3 was voided, with a resit slated for June 21. The National Testing Agency initiated an inquiry following a Ministry of Education report.
The local Indian Medical Association branch has endorsed the investigation and declared it won't safeguard any implicated medical professionals.
